brightdart teamOriginally founded in May 2006 as a tunnel-vision dream of a young entrepreneur, BrightDart is coming into its own. We are shedding the remnants of “start-up stigma” and earning our rightful place as an effective resource in today’s marketplace. We also happen to be Veteran and Woman Owned.

Our goal since inception has been to provide leading edge marketing, design and printing services, including direct mail leveraging best of breed variable data communication technologies. We continually stay true to our goal, and we help do so by having assembled a staff of selfless individuals with the zest to take us past start-up statistics and into long-term success.

Dean Sparks, Owner/Sr. Relationship Manager

Dean Sparks began his career at BrightDart by starting the company in 2006 at age 23. Prior to founding BrightDart, Dean was a soldier in the US Army from 2002 to 2006, having fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom III. Other experiences include working as a manager at a cutting horse operation and as a licensed auctioneer. His experience and value at BrightDart includes niche knowledge of variable data communications for casino gaming and a host of other industries. Dean’s work at BrightDart beyond ownership and oversight include technology procurement, self-promotional marketing, relationship management and business development. Along with these functions, Dean oversees any partnership or strategic alliance opportunity.

Renee Sparks, Owner/Accounting Manager

Renee Sparks launched her career in computer accounting in 1976. She attended programming and operational management courses through IBM in the late 1970’s. This was at a time when small and medium sized companies were in the infancy of computer usage. For most of her 30 years in accounting and operational management, Renee has been involved in AP, AR, Payroll and related skill-sets. She has also worked extensively in loan brokering for the agricultural industry, having owned her own business until selling out in 2007. Renee’s sound financial position allowed her to invest in BrightDart and get the company off the ground in its first few years of operation. Her current role at BrightDart includes full oversight and management of accounting, HR and all other aspects of the business.

Scott Robertson, General Manager/Production Lead

Scott Robertson has over twenty years of experience in prime workforce management and over fifteen years of direct experience in print and mail operations. He began his career in the printing industry by going to work for Taylor Corporation. Here he was able to gain a tremendous amount of experience by providing services to Fortune 500 companies as a production and inventory controller. Through down-sizing of Taylor Corporation, Scott transitioned to Flint Ink Group where he was an onsite contractor to Quebecor World. His title and duties here were graphics technician, where he was in charge of PMS color matching, inventory management and product purchasing. At BrightDart, Scott leverages his vast experience by bringing the useable elements of large operational philosophies and meshing them with the requirements of a small operation. He is able to bring the best of both worlds to our structure and this pays off substantially for BrightDart’s customers as well our employees.

David Whitmyre, Creative Director

David Whitmyre has been involved in the graphic arts and printing industry for over 20 years. In conjunction, he has worked with almost every desktop publishing and design product ever created. His knowledge in the convergence of graphic design and variable data in both print and web format is incredible, and gives BrightDart quite a competitive edge. Having owned his own design company for close to 20 years, he is also a seasoned tech writer, as well as a great customer service advocate. In his current role at BrightDart, David is in charge of the creative department, encompassing all aspects of design, variable programming and database management. He is a highly important member of the team and allows us to stay ahead of the curve on a daily basis.

Mallisa Rainey, Executive Assistant

Mallisa Rainey received an Associates Degree in Computer Science in 2007 and a Bachelors Degree in Digital Technology and Culture from Washington State University in 2009. Mallisa has a vast array of experience in the digital world, ranging from video production and editing, photography, web design, and project management. Mallisa did her internship through AmeriCorps where she worked with underprivileged homeless children teaching computer skills and video production for a non-profit organization called AHAS. She also has several years of experience as an IT Customer Relations Expert, having worked for several college and university IT departments. Her role at BrightDart includes coordination of current client projects and as assistant to the sales department by providing customer service and inside sales management. Mallisa also leverages her vast IT experience by managing BrightDart’s MIS solution and troubleshooting technical issues within the company.

Rosie Avina, Sales & Marketing Consultant
rosie-web Rosie Avina started at BrightDart on February 1st, 2010. In her short time here it is clearly evident she is one of the best sales reps in the business. She has over 20 years of relevant experience in marketing, direct mail and publication printing sales. Her career has spanned local advertising companies to national media organizations. This wide range of experience allows BrightDart’s clients the benefit of working with a seasoned professional possessing incredibly valuable knowledge. Rosie’s current role at BrightDart consists of procuring new business, managing client relationships and evangelizing our unique latitude of marketing services. The value she affords BrightDart and our clients is unquestionably priceless.
Jonathan Pascal, Graphic Designer/Database Coordinator

Jonathan Pascal has the distinction of being with BrightDart since the very beginning. He was been an integral component to the company, having been a part of and witnessed the progression from a garage idea to brick-and-mortar with numerous customers. Prior to BrightDart, Jonathan worked in both manufacturing and retail, giving him a great point-of-view between the processes of production to the end sale. In his role at BrightDart, he is the main production designer. On a daily basis, he reviews, modifies and designs a plethora of customer projects, as well as data processing and variable data programming. He is a very valuable member of the team, and quite an emerging talent in graphic design.

Chuck Garber, Production Assistant/Estimator

Chuck Garber started working at BrightDart shortly after the company first opened in 2007. Prior to BrightDart, Chuck worked in two different industries, including construction and the medical field as a dialysis technician. Though unrelated to marketing services like direct mail, print and design, Chuck was able to gain valuable experience, including workforce management, from his prior jobs. His maturity at BrightDart as a production assistant and estimator has been impressive. He is a highly dependable element of our team and able to keep workflow as efficient and fine-tuned as possible. This is a great accomplishment, especially considering his age and academic schedule.
